HUArchivesNET was developed as an electronic journal in 1999 to link Howard University and WorldCom in an innovative partnership to create new ways of accessing one of the finest repositories of African and African American resources through the communication technology of WorldCom’s global networks. The Journal includes columns written by the directors of the University’s programs in Afro-American Studies, African Studies, and International Affairs. The site also features occasional contributions by selected organizations and/or individuals focusing on events of specific relevance or interest. In addition to the reference information, collections, and holdings, the site also features many of the brilliant images associated with American and African American history.
