University to Award More than 2000 Degrees on May 12

Howard University will hold its 133rd Commencement Convocation at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 on the upper quadrangle of the main campus. This year, the University will award more than 2000 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees. This year's speaker is Bryant Gumbel, CBS-TV broadcast journalist. Dean of the Chapel Holds Memorial for Deceased Students

In remembrance of a year gone by and in anticipation of the year ahead, Rev. Bernard Richardson, dean of the Andrew Rankin Chapel, held a service, "Reflections: Remembering Yesterday," on April 27 to celebrate the lives of eight students who died during the 2000-2001 academic year.

School of Social Work Extends its Service to the Community

The School of Social Work dedicated its Family and Community Resource and Research Center in the newly-renovated Baker's Dozen building, 1511 4th St. NW, with a ribbon-cutting and open house on April 19.

President Holds University Town Hall Meeting

University President H. Patrick Swygert held a town hall meeting for the faculty and student body, April 3 and 4 respectively, to discuss Strategic Framework for Action II.
