
On Saturday, May 10, 2008, George W. Purnell, a diligent student and accomplished musician, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences and was awarded the competitive Reginald F. Lewis Scholar Prize.
The $10,000 prize is awarded to the undergraduate student that makes the most academic progress between the sophomore and senior years.
Purnell, native of Yeadon, Pa., had a cumulative grade point average of 2.41 at the end of his sophomore year. After much hard work and determination, Purnell graduated with an average of 3.12, a .71 improvement. Read More
