She has more than 30 years
of teaching and administrative
experience in higher education.
She currently serves as
the. As an educator, she
has developed expertise
in teaching, curriculum
design and test construction
and outcomes assessment.
She
has developed or facilitated
the development of courses
in research, health promotion
and culture diversity. Her
community involvement with
school-age children and
low income families has
provided her access to at-risk
and vulnerable populations
that experience a high degree
of health disparities and
is in need of interventions
aimed at health promotion
and disease prevention.
For
the past ten years she has
been developing a program
of research focusing on
health promotion across
the life span and health
disparities, specifically
breast and colorectal cancer
detection and prevention
among elderly African Americans.
Recently, she has added
the area of obesity to her
research interest.
Her
primary research focus is
breast and colorectal cancer.
