General
Guidelines
If
you are a member of the media
interested in interviewing,
photographing, recording or
taping any of the administrators,
faculty, staff, students,
events or facilities on Howard
University campuses, e-mail
your request to the media
relations team in the
Office of University Communications.
Please
provide your name, organization,
contact information, deadline,
and a detailed description
of the story you are working
on, and someone will get back
to you as soon as possible.
Media
on Campus
In
order to ensure the privacy
of our students, faculty,
staff, and guests, we request
that all media contact a member
of the OUC
prior to visiting the campus.
As part of their jobs, our
university police officers
look for vehicles and people
who are not authorized to
be on campus. If we know you
are coming, we can notify
the necessary people and also
provide you with the most
convenient parking to maximize
your time. In almost all cases,
student/faculty interviews
and other taping/photography
are possible.
An escort is always necessary!
Interviews
Howard faculty members are
encouraged to respond to requests
from the media regarding their
research, scholarship, and/or
professional expertise. However,
you may find it helpful to
contact the OUC
for further background, current
or more efficient contact
information, and additional
experts if your first choice
is unavailable. Since our
expert’s directory is
constantly being updated,
we may be able to refer you
to an expert who might better
serve your needs.
University
Data or Policy
We
want you to have the most
complete and accurate information.
So, if you are looking for
university data or information
on university policies and/or
procedures you should call
the OUC
directly.
*Howard's
communication team has built
