Sen. Obama to Deliver the Howard University 140th Opening Convocation Address

Howard University Community

It is my great pleasure to inform you that United States Senator Barack Obama (D-IL), a candidate for the democratic nomination for president, has accepted our invitation to deliver the Convocation address and receive a Doctor of Laws honoris causa at the 2007 Opening Convocation commemorating the formal opening of the 140th academic year. The Convocation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Cramton Auditorium.

We are indeed very pleased to welcome, again, to our campus Senator Obama following the successful PBS All-American Presidential Forum hosted by Tavis Smiley held in Cramton Auditorium on June 28, 2007.

I do hope you are able to join us for this most historic occasion. We anticipate record attendance for this Convocation where we have traditionally welcomed the first-year students to the University.

President
