The Howard chapter of Engineers Without Borders will build a rainwater harvesting unit and install six biosand filters in Nandi Hills, Kenya. These efforts will increase water quantity and quality. This multi-year effort is driven by a group of young Howard engineers led by EWB-HU President Bianca Bailey, who was named by the White House as a “Champion of Change.” To follow the group's project, visit the blog "Water is Life" at www.Howard.edu/Kenya.

The master’s degree program in speech-language pathology offered in Howard University’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has been named as one of the top graduate programs by U.S. News & World Report in their 2013 rankings of “America’s Best Graduate Schools.”

The Howard University Board of Trustees approved two new degree programs in education, a new bachelor of science in elementary education and a joint education/psychology master's degree to assist students as they pursue careers in school psychology and counseling. In addition, the Board also approved revised criteria for graduate faculty membership.
