The Howard University family offers our deepest sympathies to the families of the Virginia Tech community who were killed or wounded in the attack on April 16, 2007. Our prayers and support are also with the administration, staff, faculty and students at Virginia Tech during this difficult time. The Howard University Community grieves with the Virginia Tech community.
Words are inadequate to explain not only the loss of life, but the loss of the gifts and talents that the Virginia Tech students were preparing to give to the nation and to the global community.
During this time of loss, we have marveled at the strength and compassion of the Virginia Tech family. Their faith and courage in responding to this tragedy has given our nation and the world a reason to hope and to believe in the capacity of the human spirit to heal and to rise above any circumstance.
