Donna Brazile Delivers Lecture
at Howard University

WASHINGTON
(January 22, 2010) –
Veteran Democratic Political
Strategist Donna Brazile will
deliver the annual Charles
W. Harris Lecture entitled
the “The Fierce Urgency
of Now” at 11:30 a.m.
on Thursday, January 28, in
the Blackburn Center Auditorium
on Howard’s main campus.
Author
of the best-selling memoir
Cooking with Grease: Stirring
the Pots in American Politics,
Brazile is an adjunct professor,
author, syndicated columnist,
television political commentator,
Vice Chair of Voter Registration
and Participation at the Democratic
National Committee and former
chair of the DNC’s Voting
Rights Institute. She is a
proud native of New Orleans.
Professor emeritus Charles
W. Harris funded the annual
lecture series in the Political
Science Department. Past speakers
include UC-Berkeley Law Dean
Christopher Edley Jr. and
former Lawyers' Committee
for Civil Rights Under Law
deputy director John Brittain.
The topics discussed include
affirmative action in higher
education and voting rights
litigation before the US Supreme
Court.
