Don’t Just Go to the Game, BE the Game!

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Aug. 1) — The inaugural Nation’s Football Classic™, featuring longstanding rivals Howard University and Morehouse College, is looking for volunteers who not only get to attend the game but also gain experience working behind the scenes. The Classic, organized by Events DC, takes place Saturday, Sept. 10, at 3:30 p.m. at RFK Stadium.

The event is much more than a game.  It is a celebration of the rich culture, tradition and unity of historically black colleges and universities throughout the nation.

Classic volunteers will play an important role in numerous areas, including game operations, public relations, media operations, grassroots marketing and special events.

“We’re very excited about our first Nation’s Football Classic™ weekend and encourage the community to become actively involved,” said Erik A. Moses, managing director of the Sports and Entertainment Division of Events DC. “Volunteer support and dedication is crucial to the successful execution of the overall event.”

All volunteers must register online, be 18 or older, sign a release waiver and attend a mandatory orientation meeting. To volunteer or for more information, please visit
