The Center for
Excellence in
Advertising (CEA)
at Howard University
and Time Warner
will host a panel
discussion entitled:
"Minority"
Now Trending Majority,
A Look at the
2010 U.S. Census
Data and What
It Means to Advertisers,
on September 12,
2011 at 6 PM in
New York.
Through
a roundtable discussion,
this seminar will
explore how agencies
and other communications
executives should
advise their clients
and prepare to
engage a multicultural
society.
According
to the Census
Bureau's latest
population reports,
America's minorities
are already its
majority when
analyzing the
race and ethnicity
of four-year olds.
If this birth
rate trend continues,
by 2026 the majority
of the country's
18 year olds and
younger will be
people of color.
“Because
of this shift
in demographics,
agencies need
to embrace these
cultural shifts
and diversify
their teams to
remain relevant.
We will explore
those shifts and
discuss how to
successfully engage
diversity to assist
clients bottom-lines,”
said Dr. Jannette
L. Dates, founder
of CEA and dean,
School of Communications
at Howard University.
