Voting Opens for Afro Blue on NBC’s The Sing-Off |

WASHINGTON (November 21, 2011) – Afro Blue, Howard University’s premier vocal jazz ensemble, is in the top four on NBC’s hit a cappella talent show series The Sing-Off. Public voting for the season finalists via Internet and phone begin Monday, November 21 through Sunday, November 27.
Tune in to today’s show at 8 p.m. EST/ 7 p.m. CT to view another inspiring performance by Afro Blue. Voting phone lines and websites will be announced during the show.
Nick Lachey hosts the series, with returning judges Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman alongside singer Sara Bareilles.
The winning act will score $200,000 and a recording contract with Sony Music. Afro Blue, which was formed in 2002 by Professor Connaitre Miller, has performed around the world and received six Downbeat music magazine awards, including Best College Jazz Group, Outstanding College Jazz Choir, Best College Jazz Arrangement and Outstanding College Jazz Soloist.
