Howard University alumna Crystal Cranmore was recently awarded a 2012 Knight Digital Media Center fellowship intensive weeklong training at the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Cranmore is one of 20 fellows selected for the program.
The mission of the fellowship is to train journalists worldwide on social media and digital technology. The program specializes in providing the foundation of technical skills and story-telling techniques required by new media platforms. Shareable.net recently recognized the fellowship as “one of the leading resources in helping journalists develop the skills to produce meaningful 21st century journalism."
Cranmore currently works as the web features editor for CBSPhilly.com. In this role she produces, edits and serves as one of the online reporters. As a member of an award-winning team, Cranmore and the CBSPhilly.com editorial staff received the 2011 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Online News Operation Web Site.
With her new skill set, Cranmore hopes to continue to advance the CBSPhilly.com website by incorporating more videos, flash projects and social media to engage the online audience. |
