WASHINGTON (Aug. 15, 2013) – Howard Magazine won 2013 APEX Publication Excellence Awards for the winter 2013 issue, “Innovative Research Through an Interdisciplinary Lens,” and for the magazine’s innovate mobile app. The magazine and other publications produced by the Office of University Communications have won Apex Awards for the past four years.
The APEX Awards for Publication Excellence is an annual competition for publishers, editors, writers and designers who create print, web, electronic and social media. The awards are sponsored by Communications Concepts, Inc., which advises publishing, PR and marketing professionals on best practices to improve their publications and communications programs.
The Winter 2013 Magazine featured Howard professors who are engaged in cross-disciplinary research. The professors are all representative of the Howard vision and commitment to solve complex global challenges. The mobile app for Howard Magazine was launched in September 2012.
