College of Pharmacy's Evening of Excellence Honors Alumni
 

 

WASHINGTON (October 1, 2013) - Howard University College of Pharmacy held its inaugural Alumni Recognition Award and Scholarship Fundraiser: Evening of Excellence to recognize the achievements of its graduates and honor institutions that have supported the College.

The event was held at the Marriott at Metro Center on Thursday, Sept. 26, culminating three days of alumni- and student-centered events at the College. Dr. Thomas L. Harrison, D.O., R.Ph., delivered a rousing and inspiring keynote,  the Third Annual Legacy Lecture.

The recipients of the inaugural College of Pharmacy Alumni Award for Distinguished Postgraduate Achievement are Minnie Baylor-Henry, Esq., ('72) and Frederick Munford, Sr., R.Ph; MS, D.Min.  ('67). CVS Caremark received the inaugural Dean's Community Award.“Minnie Baylor-Henry and Dr. Munford proudly embody that indomitable  spirit of achievement and service that continues to define both the college of pharmacy and Howard University, " said Anthony K. Wutoh, Ph.D., R.Ph, dean of the College.

In accepting the Alumni Award, Baylor-Henry and Munford credited the College of Pharmacy with providing the educational foundation on which their successful and layered careers have been built.

"The education I received at the College of Pharmacy was unparalleled,” said Baylor-Henry.

Munford echoed Baylor-Henry’s sentiments, attributing his skills and professional success to his studies at the college.

Dean Wutoh thanked CVS Caremark for its longstanding support of the College and its initiatives, including the annual White Coat ceremony. Eileen Munch, Pharm.D, accepted the award on CVS's behalf. Tim DePault also represented CVS.

“We are honored by the award and look forward to our continued partnership," said Munch.

An Evening of Excellence was made possible through the generous support of the loyal advocates and supporters of the College.
