Howard to Host Domestic Violence Rally

WASHINGTON (October 21, 2013) – As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Howard University’s Campus Safety First Project (CSFP) and the Verizon Foundation will host a domestic violence rally at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, on the main campus yard.

At 6 p.m., in the Blackburn Center Digital Auditorium, the Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the Men of Drew Hall and Men Can Stop Rape will participate in a roundtable discussion about masculinity issues and how men can become advocates in efforts to stop domestic violence. The roundtable is open to male students at Howard. Since 2010, Howard University has partnered with the Verizon Foundation and Verizon Wireless to raise awareness about domestic violence and urge students to take action when they see friends in abusive relationships.
