Howard University Choir Presents 40th Annual Christmas Concert

WASHINGTON (December 5, 2013)­– The Howard University Choir, under the direction of J. Weldon Norris, will present the 40th Annual Christmas Concert sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, Division of Fine Arts and the Office of Choirs and Bands. The concert is free and open to the public. The event will be presented as a choral lecture forum, narrated by Norris, featuring classic Christmas carols, holiday songs, spirituals, oratorio and opera with accompanying orchestra.

Background information:
The choir, composed of students, faculty, staff and alumni, is recognized by many as a national treasure and performs for all major convocations and functions at the University. The choir has performed in 17 countries on five continents. The annual concert has been presented to the community since 1973 and has featured performances and commentary from notable Howard alumni, including Phylicia Rashad and Roberta Flack.
