Media Advisory: US Senator Tim Scott to Speak at Howard University

U.S. Senator Tim Scott

WASHINGTON (February 20, 2014) – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (S.C.-R) will speak to Howard University students about education, investing in local communities and America’s future on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 3:30 p.m. ­ 4:30 p.m., in the School of Business Auditorium.

Scott is the first African-American to serve in the U.S. Senate from the South since Reconstruction. He was elected to U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and was later appointed to the Senate seat after the retirement of Sen. Jim DeMint.
