Howard University
Countdown to Start of the New Academic Year

The mission of the Orientation program at Howard University is to facilitate a smooth transition for new students into their academic and community life. At Howard University, we offer a wealth of resources designed to make our new students feel valued, welcomed, and prepared to begin a new phase of their lives. Incoming students will not only receive academic advisement and vital information related to course registration; they will participate in workshops and other critical sessions that offer support and guidance as they begin the Howard journey.

Students who complete college orientations are more likely to succeed in achieving their educational goals. The university's Virtual Orientation is designed to provide you with information on admissions, student services, academic programs, key resources, technology services, and more.

On-Campus Orientation

All New Howard University students are required to complete the Orientation process before the start of classes. During On Campus Orientation, students will engage their individual schools and colleges for academic advisement and other related pertinent information. In addition, new students will attend workshops, seminars on academic success, career advisement, registration, and have opportunities to participate in forums related to their overall transition into the university.
