| Dear Howard University Community:
Earlier today, I spoke with members of the community on the main quadrangle. I assured the campus that safety was our top priority. Following the afternoon earthquake, no injuries have been reported. If you have not already done so, students are encouraged to contact family members.
Structural engineers have assessed several campus buildings and determined that some buildings are safe to re-enter. All residence halls, the Blackburn Student Center, East Campus (Divinity) and West Campus (Law) have been approved for re-entry. The shuttle service has also resumed its normal schedule.
We will continue to work to clear the remaining buildings. Please note that classes and business will resume on Wednesday, August 24. Stay tuned for campus-wide updates on delays or relocation classes and services.
For information about classes and campus activities, please visit the earthquake update page: http://www.howard.edu/newsroom/releases/2011/20110823EarthQuakeUpdates.htm
