On November 3rd it marks the beginning of Eastern Standard Time (EST) and the ending of Daylight Savings Time (DST). On Sunday at 2:00am, clocks will move back one hour (to 1:00am) and the days will become shorter and get dark earlier. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to take safety precautions and be reminded of ALL free safety services available at Howard University.
Remember, if you see it, report it. Trust your instincts if a situation causes you to feel uncomfortable. Don't allow unescorted guests into residence halls and always lock your doors. For safety, register with Guardian Service and program the phone number into your cellphones. The Department of Public Safety goal is to protect students, faculty and staff. "SAFETY IS EVERYONE'S BUSINESS"
Always take precautionary measures to protect yourself, and your personal property. As always, when observing suspicious persons or suspicious activity notify Campus Police at (202) 806-1100. In the event of an EMERGENCY dial 911.
