Effort Certification System
Research Administrative Services (RAS), the Office of Grants Management (OGM), and the Office of the Provost are working in unison to provide all the resources you need to certify your effort quickly and painlessly. It is a contractual obligation of performing the research, training and service projects Howard conducts according to our sponsor requirements.
You may contact the ECS team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
RAS and OGM personnel are available for training sessions for you or your department at your request please contact us.
Here are a few points that will make things easier:
If you are off campus you need to log-in to the secure Howard site - secure.howard.edu – using your email ID and password (ID is your Howard issued email less @howard.edu and the password is your Howard email password). Once you’re in the secure site you will be able to log into PeopleSoft as usual – remember this requires your PeopleSoft user ID and password. For more detailed information, see item #12 of the ECS FAQs.
If you need to make changes to your effort, you may elect that option and correct any misallocation of time as well as add new projects or departments as needed. There is a simple users' guide on the PeopleSoft portal that walks you through the process of correcting your certificate.
Training sessions are scheduled when effort certificates are due. Individuals required to certify their effort will receive an email with more details. Computers, access and assistance will be available.
