IACUC 101 and IACUC 301

Howard University will be hosting IACUC 101 and IACUC 301 courses on November 13 and 14, 2013. The events will be held at the Armour J. Blackburn University Center.

IACUC 101: "The Basics" is a full day didactic and interactive educational opportunity for both new and seasoned IACUC members, IACUC affiliates and others who contribute to their institution's animal care and use program. Didactic sessions address institutional responsibilities; IACUC charges; relevant informational resources; animal welfare laws, regulations and policies, and best standards. Students also are challenged to consider, deliberate, and develop action plans for a variety of potential IACUC scenarios.

IACUC 101 meets the requirements for 6.5 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB RACE approval; however participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continuing education.
