As a tribute to scholarship and creativity, the Howard University Faculty Authors Reception was established in 1996,

Howard University faculty publications are recorded in the Scholarship@Howard library database This Web-enabled database is searchable by college, department, author’s name, year or range of years of publication, and type of work. Since the year 2000, the database has also listed student co-authors, a demonstration of the engagement of students in scholarship on campus, as well as the faculty’s commitment to involve their students in the research enterprise.

Recent bibliographic citations are linked to the source articles for full-text viewing. Also, the database now includes performances by HU faculty artists, with citations linked to full audio (mp3) and video programs, courtesy of the artists.

Scholarship@Howard is an "institutional repository" of HU faculty research and creativity. The goal is to use this invaluable resource to promote research and interdisciplinary endeavors, as well as to showcase the richness and intellectual fertility of the Howard Experience to prospective students, alumni, friends, and donors.

The HU Faculty Authors Database is a collaborative effort of the University Library System, the Office of the Provost, the University Faculty Senate, Information Systems & Services (ISAS) and all the authors whose citations populate the database.
