Historian, Scholar, and Advocate Dr. John Hope Franklin, Howard’s most distinguished faculty members, will be remembered for staying on the firing line throughout his life in his teaching, research, writing and voice on race and equality.
This tribute to Dr. Franklin was planned ahead of his passing on March 25, 2009. We are saddened by this great lost to the nation and the world, but we continue to celebrate his invaluable contribution reconstructing the landscape in America.
The evening will feature presentations from the Division of Fine Arts and a keynote address by Dr. Lonnie G. Bunch, director of the National Museum of African-American History and Culture. |
