Patricia Roberts Harris The Harris Public Affairs
Program is associated with the international affairs programs at Howard within
the The program at Howard bearing her name grew out of a bequest Patricia Roberts Harris made to the University. Its purpose is two fold: to complement the university’s course offerings in areas related to public policy, and to encourage students to consider careers in public service. Harris activities emphasize values and ethics in public service and underscore both of these objectives. The Harris Program includes a student internship and program an annual lecture focusing on a major issue or issues of national and/or international concern.
