STUDY ABROAD
Guidelines
The Application - Howard Course approval, must be typed and submitted with copies of the Online application and all supporting documents to Betty J. Aikens, Director, Study Abroad Office at the Ralph J.
Bunche Center, on or before September 25 for Spring Semester, and March 10 for Fall Semester.
- One – year
residency at Howard University
- Sophomore or
Junior standing required at the time of application
- A minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for participation in all
study abroad programs at the time of application
- Recent
Passport size (2”x 2”) photograph required for all programs. Digital
download will not be accepted
- An official
transcript. You must request and pay for the transcript from
the Office of Enrollment Management, which must be forwarded or
hand delivered in a sealed envelope to the Ralph J. Bunche
International Affairs Center, 2218 Sixth Street
- Completed
course approval form for study abroad must be submitted along
with the completed International Student Exchange Program (ISEP),
The American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), Institute for
the International Education of Students (IES), Denmark’s
International Study Program (DIS), Oxford Study Abroad Program (OSAP), or Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), application
- All course
work must be taken on a “for credit” basis. Courses should
not be taken as “audit” or “pass-fail.”
All
grades and credit hours will be calculated into the student's Howard University cumulative GPA
and recorded on the Howard University transcript.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE
PROCESSED.
