THE TIME WARNER PROGRAM

Richard Parsons Officially Launches
The Time Warner Series

Richard D. Parsons, Chairman and CEO, Time Warner, Inc. was on the Howard University campus on February 16, 2005 to officially launch the Time Warner Series in the John H. Johnson School of Communications at Howard University. Students were able to interact with Mr. Parsons during a videotaped interview that aired on WHUT-TV and during a reception following his introduction of the Program.

The Time Warner Program involves seasoned professionals to share their wisdom and skills with students. Most significantly it involves industry professionals invited by faculty members, to come on campus to interact with students in a classroom environment as part of the course work. Students will receive up-to-the-minute insights into industry trends and standards from people whose work literally influences millions of people around the world.

Mr. Parsons hopes to make the media and communications program at the John H. Johnson School of Communications “Simply the Best,” which was the initial slogan of the Time Warner cable icon HBO.

This Program is an extension of the partnership, begun in 1999, between Time Warner and Howard University. In 1999, the Time Warner Endowed Chair was established in the Department of Radio, TV & Film at the School. Time Warner professors have included Bill Duke and Suzanne de Passe. The current Chair is media mogul, Chatherine Hughes, founder and chairperson of Radio One.
