3-Day Intensive Mini-DV Production Workshop
Learn the basic conceptual, procedural and technical
skills needed to tell compelling stories through the
use of digital video (DV) technology. Aspiring
filmmakers/video producers will be immersed in video
terminology, standard production practices, basic
equipment operation and the fundamentals of production
design, organization and implementation. Conducted by
innovative filmmaker, author and professor S. Torriano
Berry, this workshop will take place on Friday evening
(6-10pm) , all day Saturday (10am-6pm) and Sunday

3-Day Intensive Non-Linear Video Editing Workshop
Learn the basic conceptual and technical skills
necessary to create exciting visual stories. This
hands-on workshop will enable participants to learn
the art of video editing using the Final Cut Pro
editing system. Editing workstations will be provided.
Participants may bring their own with laptop computers
with Final Cut Pro installed, and they are encouraged
(but not required) to bring personal footage for
editing purposes. The workshop, conducted by Professor
S. Torriano Berry, will take place on Friday evening

Presenting and Selling Production Ideas
A hands-on seminar, using lecture, group and
individual interaction, video, film and power point
presentations and handouts to help you write fundable
grants for public broadcast or cablecast productions.
This all-day (10am-6pm) session will be conducted by
former CPB programming executive and media consultant
Donald Marbury along with representatives from major

4-Day Intensive AVID Non-linear Editing Workshop
An intermediate level workshop (no beginners please) designed to provide the
conceptual, procedural and technical knowledge needed
to use the AVID Xpress Pro system for non-linear video
editing. Editing workstations will be provided.
Participants may bring their own laptop computers with
AVID Xpress Pro software installed, and they are
encouraged (but not required) to bring personal
footage for editing purposes. The workshop, conducted
by skilled filmmaker, freelance AVID editor and
professor Sherelle Williams, will take place on
Thursday and Friday evenings (6-10pm), all day
Saturday (10am-6pm) and Sunday afternoon (2-6pm).
