Dr. Kenneth Anderson authors Reading Achievement, Suspensions, and African American Males in Middle School


Dr. Kenneth AndersonDr. Kenneth Anderson is an assistant professor and coordinator of the Reading Education program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Anderson’s article, entitled Reading Achievement, Suspensions, and African American Males in Middle School, discusses the relationship of reading achievement and other demographic factors to suspensions of African-American males in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The impact of the Sustained Silent Reading Reflection Initiative (SSR2I) is introduced for its potential to remediate students who are referred for problem behaviors.
