The District of Columbia Area Writing Project will work with schools to plan staff
development sessions or conferences to best meet the needs of
the instructional staff. DCPS teachers may receive
professional development hours, in-service credit and/or
graduate credit for workshops and courses.
District of Columbia Area Writing
Project teacher consultants are available for city-wide,
school-wide or departmental in-service programs. We share
with teachers innovative strategies for use in math, science,
history, art, ELL, technology, music and English classrooms.
Our workshops are interactive and designed to help teachers
implement performance-based writing experiences. We also
provide support for standards-based instruction.
