Sandra Edmonds Crewe, Ph.D. Named Interim Dean

Provost and Chief Academic Officer Wayne A.I. Frederick, M.D., MBA, today announced the appointment of Sandra Edmonds Crewe, Ph.D., as the interim dean of the School of Social Work. Dr. Crewe succeeds Cudore Snell, D.S.W., who will retire as dean on June 30.

Dr. Crewe has served as a professor of social work at Howard for 15 years. She also served as associate dean from 2006 to 2012.  Currently, Dr. Crewe is director of the Howard University Multidisciplinary Gerontology Center.  She is the principal investigator on a major grant, sponsored by the District of Columbia’s Office on Aging, which provides up-to-date research and professional development for the aging community.  Read more
