Domestic Violence Training
Project

Purpose of Project
- Increase the number of
professional African American social work
practitioners prepared to work with victims and
perpetrators of domestic violence .
- Recruit qualified second
year African American graduate social work
students to develop competency in social work
practice with victims, perpetrators,women and
children of domestic violence.
- Make available
information about family and domestic violence to
all students and faculty .
- Promote the integration
of relevant content on family and domestic
violence to all students and faculty.
- Provide exploratory
research data on victims, perpetrators, and
children of domestic violence and evaluation of
treatment for intervention with African Americans.
- Disseminate information
to the social work community, the university
community and the community at large.
