Alumni Achievement Award Recipient Mr. Eddie C. Brown, E.A., B.S.E.E.,
1961 Eddie C. Brown is Founder and President of Brown Capital Management, Inc. He has over 30 years of investment experience having served as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager for 10 years at T. Rowe Price Associates immediately prior to starting his own firm in 1993. Brown Capital Management oversees $4.6 billion for clients such as Texaco and the Oregon State Government. Mr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Science in
Electrical Engineering from Howard University, a Master of
Science in Electrical Engineering from New York University, and
a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University
School of Business. He also holds two professional designations,
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Investment
Counselor (CIC). In 1998, Mr. Brown was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Labor to the ERISA Advisory Council for a three-year term, and in 1999 he was appointed by Governor Parris Glendening to the Maryland Economic Development Commission. For the past 18 years, he has been a regular panelist on the nationally televised public broadcasting program, Wall $treet Week With Louis Rukeyser. In 1996, Mr. Brown was the sole inductee into the Wall $treet Week’s Hall of Fame, joining legends John Templeton and Peter Lynch. |
