College of Arts and Sciences Corey C. Briscoe, a member since 2010, serves as the Undergraduate Student Trustee. A senior in the College of Arts and Sciences with a dual-major in English and Political Science, he has held key positions in the Howard University Student Association, including Chairman of the General Assembly, Director of Student Advocacy, and member of the Undergraduate Student Assembly. Besides focusing on national and global community outreach, he has a strong interest in structural management in service organizations. He is a staunch advocate for increasing the number of African-American males in higher education, and he has done extensive research on the influence of China on the economy of Africa. He serves as a founding member, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of a new non-profit, The Agape Coalition, Inc., and has given testimony twice before sessions of the U.S. Congress. Invited to serve on several presidential campaigns, he chose to be a member of the Washington D.C. Steering Committee for Hillary Clinton. He is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, the recipient of numerous awards, and the subject of several national media features. Upon graduation, he plans to serve his community and exemplify the values taught by his parents. |
