Marcus A. Carey, a member since 2012, serves as Undergraduate Trustee. A senior in the Howard University School of Business, his concentration is Business Administration-Finance. An active member of the Finance & Investment Club, he served as Vice President of the HUSB Freshman Class and was a Management Team Leader for the Class of 2014. While active on campus, he also makes time for community service activities, including mentorship with the U.S. Dream Academy at Ferebee Hope Elementary School in the District of Columbia, participation in the annual HU Alternative Spring Break Program in New Orleans, La., and advisor to the Midnight Golf Program in Detroit, Michigan. In 2010, he was a student presenter at the International Conference on Appropriate Technology in Ghana, West Africa and continues as a student presenter annually. His participation in educational and cultural immersion travel opportunities includes the Fall 2011 semester at Richmond, The American International University in London, England. As a freshman, he was a Michael J. Berkeley Foundation Scholar, and in 2011, he was a Bank of America School of Business Scholar and a Riversville Foundation Scholar. Other memberships include: Knights Fraternity Inc.; Gentlemen of Drew Social Club; Sponsors for Educational Opportunity; and the Midnight Golf Program Alumni Association. Some of his interests include travel, culinary arts, golf, and music. |
