This service corps program places Howard students in Seniors’ Service agencies where information technology is used to enhance the delivery of community services.

Students help reduce the isolation of low income seniors by familiarizing them with the use of the Internet, and by providing other services that enable them to maintain quality independent living.

The Family and Community Resource and Research Center represents the legacy and vision of thirteen African American women (Baker’s Dozen) who sought to address the problem of juvenile delinquency in the Howard University community in collaboration with Howard University's School of Social Work. The Center provides faculty, students, community residents and organizations resources for research, collaborative action, the training, and demonstrations directed toward solutions to family and community problems.

Residents of the Kelly Miller public housing development receive case management-based self-sufficiency services. Services include: needs assessments, educational development, job skills training and referrals, social services counseling, mental health referrals and an after school program.
