Financial Clearances
Students seeking clearances for transcript, graduation,
hospital residency and total withdrawal must obtain the
clearance from within the Campus Based Loan Office in
the Administration
Building, Room 218, (202)-806-2570.

Graduation Clearances
In order to receive graduation clearance students
must first complete their academic requirements and
have their
name submitted to the Student
Financial Services Office by the school.
Borrowers of Short-term Emergency Student Loans must
satisfy all outstanding loan debts before financial
clearance can
be given. Loan balances and receipts can also be obtained
from a staff member at the front counter in Room 218
of the Administration Building. See acceptable
forms and type of payment.
Borrowers of Federal Student Loans (Federal Perkins,
Health Professions Student Loans, Loans for Disadvantaged
Students,
Primary Care Loans and Nursing Loans) and/or Long-term
Emergency Student Loans are required to have an exit
interview with the Collections Department before financial
clearance
can be given.
Transcript Clearances
Academic transcripts are issued by Enrollment Management
(E-M)/Records Office, Room 104, Administration Building.
Requests for transcript must be made to that office and
must meet the following requirements:
- Requests must be in writing;
- Requests must contain the signature of the student
or former student whose record is being requested;
- Have financial clearance from the Student Financial
Services Department.
A representative on behalf of the student with written
permission from the student (must have signature) can
visit the Student Loan Office, Room 218, Administration
Building to obtain a clearance.
Transcripts are not given to students with outstanding
balances.
Borrowers of Short-term Emergency Student Loans must
pay all delinquent debts before financial clearance
can be
given. See acceptable forms and type of payment. Borrowers whose loans are
not due and/or
are in a current status will receive immediate financial
clearance
provided no other debts are owed.
Borrowers of Federal Student Loans (Federal
Perkins, Health Professions Student Loan, Loans for
Disadvantaged
Students,
Primary Care Loans and Nursing Loans) and/or Long-term
Emergency Student Loans must pay all delinquent
amounts before financial clearance can be given. See acceptable forms and type of payment. Borrowers whose
loans are in grace, deferred or current status
will receive
immediate financial clearance provided all entrance
and exit interviews were conducted and no other outstanding
debts are owed. Student Accounts Balances must also
be paid.
Health Profession
Residency Clearances
Students completing their health professions residency
training must obtain final clearance from this office.
Borrowers
of Short-term Emergency Student Loans must satisfy
all outstanding loan debts before financial clearance
can
be given. See acceptable forms and type of payment. Loan balances and receipts
can be obtained
from a staff member at the front counter of the Student Loan Office in Room 218 of the Administration
Building.
Borrowers
of Federal Student Loans (Federal Perkins, Health Professions
Student Loan, Loans for Disadvantaged Students,
Primary Care Loans and Nursing Loans) and/or Long-term
Emergency Student Loans are required to have an updated
exit interview with the Collection Department before
financial clearance can be given. If there are no outstanding
debts
owed, immediate financial clearance will be given.
Total Withdrawal
Students seeking a total withdrawal from the University must
follow the total withdrawal procedure as outlined in the Student
Reference Manual.
