Downloading and opening a file requires only 3 steps!
Step 1: Clicking a Download Link

To start the process of downloading, you need to click on a link that points to a downloadable file. Note: Not every Web site makes it obvious where you need to click to download the file your looking for. Sometimes you may need to guess a little, or contact the owner of the Web site for help. |

2: Choosing
to Save to the Desktop and Start the Download

After you click on a link that points to a downloadable file, a window pops up that gives us some options. Notice there are two options in the center of this window. Click on "Save this program to disk" to make sure it's selected.
Each has its own advantages, but the for these instructions, we will be saving the file to your computer.
When your ready, select "Next".

You should now see a window like the one to the left. This window is asking you where you want to save the file you are downloading.
To select the desktop, click the box at the top of the window (to the right of "Save As:") and then click "Desktop".
Once you've done this, click "Save". |

The file will now download and a window will display showing you how far it has come. When the blue bar in the center of the window fills up, the download is complete and the window should disapear. If not, click "Close". |
Step 3: Locating and Opening the Downloaded File
Finished!
You have successfully downloaded and opened a file.
