1.How do I verify my information? 

To verify your information visit the following url, http://www.howard.edu/technology/isas/facnet/viewinfo.cfm .From this page input your Employee ID and click "View My Information". You will be taken to a page that has all the information that FacNet has for you, from this page you will be able to choose to edit your information or move forward to the next step.

         
2.What is my employee ID?

Your employee ID is the first three digits of your last name and the last five digits of your social security number. This can be found on your employee ID card. Example: ABC12345.

         
3. How do I complete a pre-installation checklist?

You can complete a pre-installation checklist online on the FacNet website http://www.howard.edu/technology/isas/facnet/message.cfm or download the form http://www.howard.edu/technology/isas/facnet/installation_preparation.cfm and fax it in to FacNet at 202-806-6231. The FacNet website has full instruction for all questions that need to be answered, however, if you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact FacNet @ 202-806-2488 or facnet@howard.edu. 

         
4.How do I make an appointment?

You can make an appointment with FacNet after you’ve verified your information and completed a pre-installation checklist. You can schedule an appointment from the following location: http://www.howard.edu/technology/isas/facnet/installschedule.cfm if you have completed the first two steps you’ll be able to shown the appointment dates for your building; if not, then you’ll be prompted to complete the step you have missed. If you do not feel comfortable with making the appointment online, you can call FacNet at 202-806-2488 to schedule an appointment.

         
5. Why do I need a university email?

You’ll need university e-mail in order to be able to log into the "ENTERPRISE" domain. Your university e-mail and enterprise username and password are the same.

         
6. What type of equipment does FacNet offer?

FacNet offers PC Desktop, Laptops, Apple iMacs and Apple iBooks. A full technical specification on each can be found at the following location: http://www.howard.edu/technology/isas/facnet/equipment2.htm

         
7. What do I do with my old equipment?

After your new FacNet equipment has been installed, you may decide to keep your previous computer. However if you decide to dispose of your previous computer you will need to contact your FacNet Coordinator and fill out a Property Transfer form. The Property Transfer form will officially transfer the ownership of the equipment from your department back to Materials Management.

When filling out the forms, please do the following:

  • Coordinate with your FacNet Coordinator to ensure all property to be transferred from your department/school is included on the form. If possible, please do not submit transfer forms that contain fewer than 3-4 pieces of equipment.
  • Remove/erase all of your files from the hard drive. Please click here for instructions.
  • Ensure all equipment serial and HU numbers are on the transfer form.

8. Is there warranty on my equipment?

Yes, the systems are under warranty for three (3) year full onsite parts and labor warranty; only hardware is covered and Vendor will come on campus or pay for shipping once notified. 9.  Who do I call if something goes wrong with my equipment?

Initially the help desk at extension 202-806-2020 will be the first step for assistance with your FacNet system. However if you are having a hardware issue, the vendor will need to be contacted as each system is under warranty. The relevant numbers for the vendors can be found on the FacNet website at the following location http://howard.edu/technology/isas/facnet/equipment.htm. Simply choose the phase of FacNet in which you received your system and choose the warranty information needed under “Equipment Service Warranty”.

         

10.  What upgrades can I make to my new FacNet system?

To upgrade or add any components to the systems that are not external additions will void the warranty and becomes a breach of contract. Therefore, no internal additions to the FacNet systems are permitted.

         
           
11. Where do I find the serial number of my iMac G5?

The 11-digit serial number is located on a label under the foot of the iMac G5. There is a bar code underneath the serial number. To view the label, hold the sides of the iMac and gently lay the computer face down on a soft, clean towel or cloth.
