Installing Norton Anti-Virus

Before beginning:

1. 

UNINSTALL ANY EXISTING ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE BEFORE INSTALLING SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE

 
2. 

When the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition CD is placed in the CD player, Autorun will bring up the first menu screen.

It is recommended that you select and read "Read This First" before proceeding with the installation.

 

 
3. 

After reading "Read This First", select Install Symantec AntiVirus from the menu

 
4. 

On the next menu screen, select Install AntiVirus Client.

 

 
5. 

Symantec may show some status and prep screens as the installation process proceeds.

 

 
6. 

On the Welcome to the Symantec AntiVirus Client Setup program screen click Next.

 

 
7. 

On the Symantec License Agreement Screen, you are instructed to carefully read the license agreement. You must click "I accept the terms in the license agreement." for Symantec to allow you to proceed with the installation. Click Next to proceed.

 

 
8. 

Symantec will identify any earlier versions of Symantec Antivirus software which it will upgrade.

 

 
9. 

Symantec will proceed with the installation which may take several minutes.

 

 
10. 

Symantec may show some help screens as the installation process proceeds.

 

 
11. 

On the "InstallSheild Wizard Completed" screen click Finish to complete the installation of Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition.

 

 
12. 

From the Start menu, select Programs > Symantec Client Security and then Symantec AntiVirus Client.

 

 
13. 

On the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition screen run LiveUpdate and then run a full scan of your computer.

 

 
14. 

On the left-hand side under Scan select Scan Computer. On the Scan Computer screen click the box for My Computer and a plus and check will be placed in each box. Then click Scan at the bottom right of the screen.
